The Easy Way This pickled egg recipe was handed down to me by my grandmother and I think you will agree they are easy to make and tasty!
.) Place 12 eggs into a kettle. If you want easy to peel eggs be sure to have eggs that are around two weeks old. Cover the eggs with cold water. Bring eggs to a rolling boil and reduce the heat to medium heat for 10 minutes.
.) Place hard boiled eggs in ice water. Peel and rinse.
.) Tightly pack all 12 of the peeled hard boiled eggs into the glass quart canning jar.
.) Boil 1 cup vinegar. 1/4 cup water, 2 T sugar, 1 T salt and a pinch of pickling spice together in a medium sauce pan. Take off heat after boiling for two minutes.
.) Pour boiling liquid over tightly packed hard boiled eggs in the jar. Place a lid on them and let them cool at room temperature.
