Quikrete Walkway Patio

Quikrete Walkways & Patios

Easy do-it-yourself project on how to make a Quikcrete walkway or patio, it takes some time and effort but the results look professional. The materials needed are minimal and allow you to take your time and create a visually appealing outdoor space.

Materials

1.) Quikrete walk maker (choices below),

2.) QUIKRETE Concrete Mix

3.) Quikrete Liquid Cement Color (optional) 1/2 bottle per 1-80lb bag

4.)Wheelbarrow or rental of concrete mixer

5.) Trowel or heavy waterproof garden gloves

General Information

For the projects you do not need to lay down a base of sand or rock, however, he surface must be level and compact. If you are going to do a large project, consider renting a concrete mixer. Concrete liquid stain can be added to the wet mix if desired.

Mold 1

This mold is wonderful for making walks, patios, courtyards, and terraces. With no special skills required.

Method

1.) Mix up a bag of Quikcrete following the instructions on the bag. Add Quikcrete liquid color cement if desired.

2.) Fill the mold with concrete be sure to pack tightly into the corners of the mold. You can use waterproof garden gloves or a small trowel to do this.

3.) Smooth the surface, wait 5 minutes to set up, and remove mold.

4.) It take only minutes to complete a 2′ x 2′ section.

4 mold sections can be achieved from 3-80 lb. bags of concrete mix. $4.48 x 3 = $13.44

Mold 2

This mold makes excellent patios. The finished patio pictured is a 24×14 patio – estimated 65 bags, each 80-pound bag fills 1.2 molds (24 x 24 x 2 inches)

65 x $4.48 = $291.20

For a patio that will see high traffic and use, I suggest using Quikrite crack-resistant concrete.

Method

1.) Mix up a n 80 lb. bag of Quikcrete following the instructions on the bag. Add Quikcrete liquid color cement if desired.

2.) Fill the mold with concrete be sure to pack tightly into the corners of the mold. You can use waterproof garden gloves or a small trowel to do this.

3.) Smooth the surface, leave the mold in place while you mix the next bag of concrete, and then pull it off when you are ready to pour the next one.

Mold 3

Create a stone walkway or patio in the afternoon! It’s super-fast and super-easy with this terrific, tough, recycled plastic mold.

18 by 22 inches and 2 inches deep and take one 50-lb bag to fill the mold.

3 Simple Steps

1) Pour quick-set concrete into the mold on any relatively flat surface.
2) Smooth with a trowel.
3) Wait one minute, lift the mold, and move on.

It is that easy! Try it yourself to achieve the desired look you want.
