Start Doing What’s Necessary Today To Achieve Weight Loss
Start Doing Whats Necessary Today To Achieve Weight Loss – Most of the time people are obsessed with the scale when they start on their weight loss journey. I have had a traditional love-hate relationship with that darn thing. I normally weigh myself once a month. Otherwise, I worry what I am doing isn’t working, get depressed and it sets me back.
Heaviest I Have Been
I know I weigh 240 pounds right now. It is the heaviest I have been in my life! Last year, I started on a weight loss journey and I did rather well, until I had a bout with plantar fasciitis and then shortly afterward, I fell sick with what I know now was thyroid cancer.
Turning To Food For Comfort
You know what, when you get bad news and food has always been there to comfort you in the past, it suddenly becomes your best friend again. Especially when you are told to take it easy and not push yourself.
Cardio Was My Best Friend a Year Ago
Cardio had become my best friend, after walking for a few months last year. I felt myself getting stronger and able to do anything, I had lost almost 20 pounds in a few, short months.
At the time I said ok, finally I’m getting somewhere. I had just claimed ownership to my body again. Then, wham! A huge health setback.
I’m On Track To Bust A Move
I have since been cleared of the cancer in my thyroid and my neck lymph nodes, which was the largest of the two scares. I can start back on my diet and exercise program after almost an 8-month vacation. Just have to monitor my calcium and magnesium intake to combat my parathyroids deficit.
I’m Starting Over, Ugh!
It is certainly difficult to start all over when I look back at where I was 9 months ago. Nine months ago, I could jump on the stair stepper and pound out 30 – 60-minute session without missing a beat. Sometimes, twice a day. Today, I am starting over. Give me time, I will be where I want to be again.
Setback Re-Evaluated Pushing Forward
I am an extremely determined woman with strong willpower when I put my mind to something. I don’t give up, or I should say, I don’t give up for long. I might have a setback, but that is exactly how I tend to look at things, it was a setback. I examined my set back, re-evaluated it, and now I’m pushing forward to meet my goal. The thyroid is gone. The cancer is gone. Let’s move forward. That is exactly what I’m doing.
Go Ole’ Mother Nature Has Me Building Muscles
It is snowed all night last night, so I will shovel the driveway this morning and then jump on my exercise bike in the basement to take a 30-minute ride. I’ll work around the cold factor for a few days.
Have I told you how much I’d like spring to arrive? I’ll take singing in the rain over shoveling the snow right about now. Winters over! Bring on the rain to wash the road salt away and allow the beautiful daffodils and tulips to emerge.
So, are you ready to start doing what’s necessary today to achieve your weight loss dreams of tomorrow?
