3 Sweet Treats from One Mix

Why buy the expensive boxed brownie mixes when you can make up a batch of homemade brownies from scratch and enjoy them?

Make this versatile brownie mix that can make 3 sweet treats.  The mix can be stored in the pantry for 6 months and pulled out when you would like to make brownies, hot fudge or brownie crinkle cookies.

Ingredients For The Brownie Mix:
2 Cups Shortening
4 teaspoons salt
4 teaspoons baking soda
2 1/2 cups baking cocoa
4 C All Purpose Flour
8 Cups Sugar

 

Instructions To Make Brownie Mix:

1.) In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the shortening and mix well.

2.) Cut shortening into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs.

3.) Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

How to Make Crinkle Cookies
4 Cups of Brownie Mix
2 Eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla

Mix all ingredients together.  Drop by tablespoon full, two inches apart on baking sheets.  Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.  Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet before moving.  Makes 3 dozen cookies.

Fudge Sauce:
1 Cup Brownie Mix
2/3 Cup Water

In saucepan, bring mix and water to a boil over medium heat.  Stir often. Reduce heat once mixture boils to simmer.  Simmer 1-2 minutes until thickened.  Serve over ice cream.




 

 

 

 

 

 

Brownies:
4 Cups Mix
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 Cup Chocolate Chips
1-1/3 Cup Chopped Walnuts

Combine mix, eggs, vanilla.  Mix well.  Fold in walnuts and chocolate chips.  Pour batter into a greased 13x9x2 pan. The batch above was made using The Perfect Brownie Pan.  You can  Purchase The Perfect Brownie Pan buy clicking on the red text.

Bake 350 degrees F for 35 minutes.

Top with fudge sauce above, powdered sugar or your favorite frosting recipe.
