Sugarloaf Mountain Marquette Michigan
What a glorious view! That is what everyone in your party will say when you make it to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain.
Lower Ore Dock Marquette Michigan
The lower ore dock in Marquette Michigan is a good place to stand during the early eve. A pastel coloring consumes the sky for an area that is most certainly a sunrise location over Lake Superior.
Da Yoopers Tourist Trap in Ishpeming, Michigan. My photography travels are experiences. Exploration and if you can grab a few laughs along the way … memories are made. Nobody can ever take away your experiences. Everything else can be stripped away in a heartbeat. Your memories and experiences cannot be taken from you. Unless you suffer from dementia – and then you have picture proof 🙂
Capturing the Shadows, Lines and Strength
I wanted to capture this impressively beautiful and elaborate old fire bell tower as an abstract fire tower bell print in black and white. I am not one to shoot and turn a print into black and white, unless I see the shadows, lines and strength before I take the shot. This fire tower drew me in and immediately I saw the strength to use black and white to capture those bold shadows and lines.
Where is the Tower Located?
The fire bell tower is located on the shores of Marquette, Michigan and just as she stood there weathering the test of time, I also wanted to capture her boldness and strength.
What Was It Used For?
The fire bell was used to alert the village that there was a fire, back in the day. The city built a large brick foundation to proudly preserve and show off her strength and history.
Hopefully, you will agree that I captured the bold strength she shows in this abstract print.

Happy New Year! I expect great things to come in 2016! I am not one for making resolutions for the upcoming year. Personally, I believe they just set people up to fail. Instead I’m setting goals. One goal is to spend more time with my husband, Exploring Menominee Michigan icy shoreline started the year off on the right foot.
A few winter’s ago off the shore of Sand Point in Munising, Michigan my daughter and I walked across the icy channel of Lake Superior to see the Grand Island Michigan ice curtains.
It was a once in a lifetime trip for me because of my fear of walking on frozen water. Although, maybe this is the experience that has changed the tides. I have went ice fishing with my husband now. Amazed he has got me out on the ice.

Let the weekend traveling commence. I needed to get away for a weekend and just be one with nature. I had heard that the Apostle Ice Caves were set to open this past weekend and I tried to gear myself up to take on the adventure. I only got as far as Munising Michigan Frozen Falls.
