Communiversity Park and the UW–Green Bay Arboretum Trail System offer one of the most peaceful nature escapes in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Along the bay, Communiversity Park is a beautiful place to watch the sunset, while the nearby arboretum trails wind through wooded areas, creeks, ponds, and quiet natural spaces that are worth exploring in every season.
If you enjoy shoreline views, woodland trails, seasonal photography, and places that feel close to town but still calm and natural, this is a lovely area to visit in Brown County.
Communiversity Park and UW–Green Bay Arboretum Trail System
This area combines shoreline scenery with wooded hiking trails, making it one of the nicer places in Green Bay for a quiet walk, seasonal photography, and sunset views over the bay. Communiversity Park sits along the water, while the UW–Green Bay Arboretum trail system extends inland through forest, wetlands, bridges, ponds, and creeks.
It is the kind of place that changes throughout the year. In winter, ice can build into delicate formations along the shoreline. In spring and summer, the trails are shaded and green. In fall, the woods take on rich color and the bay side remains a peaceful place to catch the evening light.

Sunsets at Communiversity Park
Communiversity Park is especially beautiful in the evening when the sun drops over the Bay of Green Bay. The shoreline light can be soft and golden, and on calm nights the reflection across the water adds even more color and glow. It is a simple place, but that openness along the bay gives it a peaceful feel that makes it memorable.
If you enjoy photographing sunsets, silhouettes, reflections, or changing sky color over water, this is one of the better places in the Green Bay area to slow down and watch the day end.
In Winter
Some years in late fall and winter, when the conditions are just right, the shoreline here becomes especially striking. A sharp drop in temperature combined with waves coming in from the bay can leave beautiful ice formations on branches, brush, and shoreline edges.
When that happens, the park takes on a quiet, almost sculptural look. Ice glistens in the light, the shoreline appears transformed, and the contrast between frozen detail and open water can make this a wonderful place for winter photography.
