Why We Started Making Garden Fairy Doors (and One Little Door That Started It All)
Sometimes inspiration finds you in the most unexpected places.
A little while ago, we took a trip to Atlanta—not expecting much more than a fun getaway. But as we wandered around the city, something small and magical kept catching our eye: tiny fairy doors. Tucked at the base of trees, outside shop entrances, even nestled into brick walls, these miniature doors seemed like hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.
We spent the day hunting them down like kids on a scavenger hunt, pointing them out with delight each time we spotted another. They weren’t flashy. They weren’t overly elaborate. But they were charming. And more than anything, they sparked a feeling—like stepping into a storybook.
That trip stuck with us.
When we got home, we couldn’t stop thinking about those tiny doors and the joy they brought us. So we decided to make our own—only this time, we wanted to bring the magic to backyards, gardens, and cozy corners of homes. With a little help from our 3D printer and a lot of imagination, we created our first design: a cheerful aqua and yellow door with a simple black handle. It’s colorful, a bit whimsical, and meant to feel like it belongs in both a garden and a child’s imagination.
We like to think of it not just as a decoration, but as a spark—an invitation to slow down, look closer, and maybe even believe in a little magic.
