Ingredients:
1 large head red cabbage, finely shredded
8 apples, peeled, finely chopped
Shredded carrots for additional color
1 cup vinegar
2 cups water
1 cup sugar
Directions:
Mix cabbage, apples, carrots, vinegar, water and sugar in heavy saucepan; cover. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer 3 hours. Let stand until cool. Chill until serving time.
