The Sign Says So

According to the sign above the structure, it is the only standing bridge in the state. That is a cool fact.

A Little History

The bridge was built in 1876, the original span measured 120 feet long and 12 feet wide. It was built by the Town of Cedarburg to replace periodically washed-out bridges. The pine logs used were cut and milled in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

If you are in the area, be sure to at least stop and give this fine piece of history a peek. When in Cedarburg don’t forget to bum around in all their unique shops and visit their winery.  It is a historic little town that I found plenty to keep me busy for an entire day.
