Butler Rock

Wisconsin doesn’t have very many mountains and after a trip to Tennessee, my husband and I decided to find a few additional hiking spots. Today, while out exploring on ATV we found Butler Rock in Brazeau, WI.

Notes

We took our first trip in during the spring before the tree buds had come out. I’d bet this location would be awesome in the fall. I found the glacier slides on the rocks during the hike up amazing.

Just a fair warning.: wear long sleeves and long pants. In the taller grass on the trails, I picked up a few ticks. Bring bug spray, too. The bloodsuckers will eat you alive.

Explore Oconto County

Explore By ATV / UTV – If you want to get out and explore some trails, Oconto County, Wisconsin Trails are some of our favorite. It isn’t uncommon to run into a black bear, see 100’s of frogs cross the trail, get muddy, dusty, and have some plain ‘ole fun.

Culture Copper State Park
– If you’re looking for a place to get out and stretch your legs, this might be the place to do it. The park has a museum, short walking trails, and views of the Oconto River.

Mountain Lookout Fire Tower – Climb 132 steps and stand 100-feet in the air at the last original fire tower of nineteen.  Still standing on its original location in the Nicolet National Forest.
